Chidambaram:
The town of Chidambaram is situated in the central part of the state of Tamil Nadu, South India. The city is on the Thanjavur-Chennai route.
Chidambaram (also Thillai) literally means the sky permeated by an atmosphere of intelligence and wisdom.
The golden hall of dance was built and covered with plates of gold by Jatavarman Sundroid Pandya (years 1251-1272). I was very proud of his achievement, and as such assumed the title of Raja Hemchandandana (literally the king who covered the temple with gold).

There are 56 pillars in the corridor are the attitudes of 108 Bharat Natyam, classical dance of Tamilnadu.
Brihadeeswara Temple, in Thanjavur is an architectural wonder and reflects the artistic skills of the Chola who ruled peninsular India in the early medieval period. Built by King Rajaraja I 11th century, is one of the world’s highest temples.
Thanjavur:
The origin of the temple of the Cholas dynasty, ruled a kingdom that was separated by a large part of peninsular India. Rajaraja Chola, was a great patron of art and architecture. During the period of the Cholas, most of the temples and bronze sculptures were created in southern India.
