Oviedo, capital of the Principality of Asturias, has many attractions, including its Old Town, the Gothic cathedral or the Teatro Campoamor, which celebrates the delivery of the Prince of Asturias awards. It also has some of the best known examples of Romanesque Asturian.

We started our road touring the old city. It stands the impressive gothic cathedral of San Salvador, which has also elements of different periods and artistic styles. From the south transept we can access the Santa House where you can watch the Victoria Cross, The Cross of the Angels or the magnificent Box of Agates. Also inside the cathedral can visit the Diocesan Museum.
In the cathedral square, we can see other buildings of interest like the palace of Valdecarzana-Heredia (s.XVll), the chapel of the Balesquida (s.Xlll), Casa de la Rúa (XV century), the house of the Llanes (s.XVlll) and the garden of the Kings Warlords. Also near the temple stands the Romanesque church of San Tirso Real.
It’s worth a walk down Calle Santa Ana, where is located the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias in which you can appreciate their rich heritage, made up of over 8,000 pieces which is one of the best public art collections in Spain, this museum houses the works of artists of the likes of Goya, Zurbaran, Sorolla and Picasso, as well as prominent artists from Asturias, as Luis Fernandez, Waring or Dario de Regoyos, plus we can admire its two historic buildings that are two exceptional works of architecture palace. We also approached the Archaeological Museum housed in the former Benedictine Monastery of San Vicente (s.XVl), featuring various collections from prehistory to medieval times.
We can go and appreciate Jovellanos street on the left, the remains of the ancient wall embedded in the walls of the convent of San Pelayo. Across the street lies the monastery Gascon, cider route heavy traffic.
Still in the old part of town, find the square of Porlier, where are the Palace of the Marquises of Camposagrado (s.XVlll), seat of the High Court of Justice, and the palace of the Counts of Toreno (s.XVll) , home of the Royal Institute of Asturian. Nearby is the building of the University, founded in 1568.
City Council and the Constitution Square, where the church of San Isidoro Real, and El Fontan, the great Sunday market, are also a must. Before leaving the old town, we can walk in Cimadevilla, Mon, Ildefonso Martínez-y-old Salsipuedes Square Umbrellas.
In the city center, beside a main thoroughfare of the city-find Uria Street Park San Francisco, an epicenter of social life and the main lung Oviedo city, with countless trees in their 90,000 square meters. Nearby, is the Campoamor Theater, Stage Annual Awards Prince of Asturias, and the Palace of the General Meeting of the Principality. On the street gil Jaz is interesting to visit the Hotel de la Reconquista, Oviedo former hospice.
We conduct our route by visiting Oviedo Romanesque buildings, Santa Maria del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo, on Mount Naranco, where also lies the Romanesque Interpretation Center, and San Julian de los Prados (Santullano), the Romanesque church of larger whole of Spain next to the highway A-8.
Outside the town of Oviedo extends her golf Las Caldas, which integrates all of the ethnographic preman-ism. At the town lies the future resort of Las Caldas Villa Termal. The Equestrian Center Municipal «The Asturcón» is located on the northern slopes of Mount Naranco, at the edge of the Llanera City Council and is a real city designed for the practice of horsemanship.
Nearby are the prehistoric caves Priorio Las Llueras, with engravings of a large number of figures and interesting animals (horses, aurochs, deer, goats …), especially in the so-called Great Niche.
The Romanesque church of Santa Maria de Bendones is located in the center of the village of Bendones, about 5 miles from Oviedo on the old road to Langreo, and is one of the most important works of Romanesque Asturian not be missed.
The airfields in Morgal the possibility of renting aircraft for tourist flights and enjoys a unique view of the region and the central Asturias.
