Aezkoa has 15 of the 22 granaries Navarre, all declared of cultural interest. This is a very common type of construction in wetland areas where the shortage of grain storage demanded a good save from moisture and rodents.
The granaries, garaiak or gareak in Euskera, are quadrangular and made a gable roof on wooden tablets. The set is built on stone pillars topped by circular slabs or tornarratas, which serve to prevent entry of rodents. Inside, several compartments or martxagaria or zizku keep the wheat sown in March, wheat azarogari or October, the most prized for making bread, the babak or beans, oloa or oats or barley garagarra.
The barn is a special variety Aezkoan, «Pyrenees», according to climate and indigenous construction. The floor of the barn is about 4.5 Aezkoan x5 m, sits on 8 columns, the roof has two slopes of steep for snow.
The masonry walls with a door and a window in some cases. The current roof was of wooden board, as in other buildings. The separate steps of the building and which is supported tornarratas served to keep out rodents.
Salazar and Almiradio

Irati Forest
Extensive territory (17,195 ha) of which 75% is forest. It extends in a basin surrounded by mountains, between the valleys and Aezkoa Salazar (Navarra), Cize (Lower Navarre) and Larrau (Soule). Since ancient times has had a cattle-use forests and game.
With a great natural and ecological value, is considered one of the largest beech abetals Europe and is a major natural attraction throughout the year. The landscape is a continuous succession of small events: the explosion of green leaf in spring, summer cattle grazing on the extraordinary colors of autumn, winter silence, sometimes bathed in snow white …
The forest is flanked by two mythical mountains in the region: the Orhi (2019 m) summit emblematic of Navarre and the Pyrenees mountain, the first «two thousand» in the Pyrenees, and the Ortzanzurieta (1570 m), watchman, the east Irati High Road and west of Santiago.
Moreover, in high season there are points of information within Irati in Arrazola, and V. Snow.
Santa Maria del Campo
Located in the town of Navascués. This is a beautiful example of rural Romanesque s. XII, made of stone. Jaca influence, loneliness beside the river plain of the poplars and further enhances its beauty. Has a single nave divided into three sections and semi-circular apse, with square central tower twin windows of half a point. The set offers a sense of sober exterior harmony.
Roncal Valley

Located in the northeast border of Navarre, Larra alpine ecosystem is a unique ecological and geomorphological zone. It houses the high altitude peaks of Navarre and also with its 120 km2 of surface, is configured as one of the largest karst areas of Europe for the vertical development of its peaks and cavities (1,340 m depth in St. Martin).
Pyrenean Basin
The landscape of transition between the Pyrenees and the broad plains of the Central Zone, watersheds dramatically open: the stunning gorges of mountain rivers. It is an uneven land, vast and diverse, from the mountains to the north to the cereal fields and vineyards of the south. Castles, palaces, towers and chapels dot a territory in the form of fine specimens of art.
