I love Santa Barbara it is such a wonderful city to visit and vacation! I have stayed at the Motel Hacienda and I wasn’t too impressed to say the least. Wasn’t merely as big as I thought it was going to be and not as clean either. The location was so/so, pretty far from the good entertainment of downtown and other good spots. Regardless I feel I paid way too much for nothing at all. The last time I was in town I stayed at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So affordable and the rooms are very quaint and cozy, so lovely!

By far, Santa Barbara is in my top favorite places in California to visit. Recently I have been on a hiking binge and visit all the time to do new and challenge trails. Like my last trip in town we did 5 trails in 2 days! It was ridiculously exhausting but well worth it! Stayed at the South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com). Right outside of town making it so much more affordable!

Santa Barbara is a one of a kind of city. Ton of stuff to do to always keep you entertained. Motel Hacienda is a good establishment but it could be nicer. It really needs to be modernized and the location is a bit out of the way. Requires a car to get just about anywhere. I wasn’t too pleased about the service nor the quality of the beds. Rough night sleep to say the least. I haven’t stayed there since my last which was about a year and some odd months ago. I discovered a much better hotel and at a way better price-the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). It’s the way to go in this town!

I have to agree with the comment above; Santa Barbara is a one of a kind city. Beautiful year round and the weather never seems to be the issue. Tons of stuff to do so next time you’re in town you should check out Lotusland in Montecito or the Botanical Gardens. Beautiful walking gardens worth exploring. I’ve never personally stayed at the Motel Hacienda but by the comments you have it doesn’t seem like too prime of a location. I’m a huge fan of the South Coast Inn. Close to the UCSB campus and a delightful place to stay, it literally has it all!

All these comments have it pretty spot on about Motel Hacienda. It’s okay but you can do so much better. There is a lot to explore in Santa Barbara and its out of touch location makes it harder to get around efficiently and economically, this was at least the case for me. The South Coast Inn is really nice but the Sandman Inn is my favorite. Affordable and by far the best spot in town!
