The headlights are constructions near the coast to help ships in the sea and warn of the dangers on the coast or harbor entrance.
The origin of the word is due to the lighthouse beacon built in the island of Pharos, opposite the city of Alexandria in ancient Egypt. This building, shaped tower built by the architect Sostratos of Knidos by order of Ptolemy II, had a height of 134 meters above the fire around to guide the ships to over 50 km away.

The lighthouse of Alexandria, was built between 285 BC and 250 BC, and was identified as one of the Seven Wonders of the World by Antipater of Sidon. In the fourteenth century, after suffering many earthquakes, the lighthouse was visited by the traveler Ibn Battuta tangerine, who said it was not possible or just visit the ruins of the lighthouse. In 1480 when the Sultan of Egypt Qaitbey the blocks used to build a fortress ruins and his remains disappeared.

On the island of Skye in Scotland is the NeistPoint Lighthouse, the easternmost lighthouse on the island. They say the locals, that if the day is clear, it is possible to see Ireland. The scenery in this area are very spectacular, with many cliffs, waterfalls, a sandy stone, and after a long way down the stairs and follow the track for half a mile you reach the lighthouse Nestpoint (normally closed to the public). Truly a very special place to go if you’re in the Island of Skye.
One of the most legendary lighthouses in the world, is the lighthouse at the end of the world, located at Cape Horn, Patagonia, Antarctic. Cape Horn is considered one of the most difficult to navigate the world, some days are counted up to seven shipwrecks, and as sailors, anyone who has sailed have the right to hang an earring. This lighthouse is spectacular for its height but for the wonderful place where it is located and being the southernmost lighthouse there in the world.
One of the most legendary lighthouses of the Mediterranean Sea is the lighthouse on Formentera. This small island of Ibiza and Formentera, near Ibiza boat is ideal for a weekend getaway. A 7 km de Sant Francesc, above the Mola, and situated on the edge of a cliff that is in Cape Barbaria, you can see all the beautiful island and all its beaches.
