Tenerife, one of the most important islands of the Canaries and where the highest peak in Spain.
Tenerife has two airports: Tenerife South airport or also called Reina Sofia Airport or Tenerife Norte Los Rodeos airport. The largest airport is the Reina Sofia and passenger busiest year since the Los Rodeos airport is used mostly for flights to other islands of the Canary archipelago and the peninsula. Moreover, the island has two major ports: the Port de la Cruz Tenerife connecting the capitals of the other islands and the Port of Los Cristianos which focuses more on communication with the other capital of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. One of the best ways to get around the island is using the buses as well, in all towns there is usually a stop. Another way are the trams. They are fast and comfortable to use as many points from reaching the island. Other options include the use of taxis or rental cars. Finally you can stay at hotels, apartments, bungalows, etc…
Tours in Tenerife:
We cannot visit the rural places and of course its beaches.
Icod de los Vinos: a nice small town in the northwest of the island. It has an ancient dragon declared a National Monument, also near a park dragon that shows different endemic species of Tenerife. We also can walk through this town and enjoy with sweet shops and local food. And taste the excellent wines of this area.
Aguilas del Teide Park: located south of the island. In this beautiful park and numerous species of birds can also find monkeys, hippos, meerkats and so on. Exhibitions with birds and even the so-called «Jungle Raid» with suspension bridges, barriers and so on. that will delight young and old.
Teide National Park: is the place par excellence. Situated on the highest part of the island. Not only can we climb the highest peak, Mount Teide, but also in this area are over 700 species of insects (50% being endemic to the area) and 139 plants.
La Orotava: it is a municipality located in the north of the island, occupies much of the Orotava Valley, located in the foothills of Mount Teide.
Teresitas Beach: is located 7 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is an artificial white sand beach.
Playa de las Americas is not only a white sand beach but is also a true resort.
Giants: They are a huge cliffs of some 500 to 800 meters high and located on the west coast of the island.
Lagos Martianez: it is an ideal area for lovers of swimming pools and water. Located in Puerto de la Cruz, are an excellent pool complex where you can enjoy the artificial seawater. The hotel is surrounded by shops and kiosks.
